Lemoncraft Vintage Inspired Shaker Roses for Cherish the Memory

My 6x6 May Shaker Card for Cherish the Memory DT

 "Be you, bravely"

Thanks for visiting my blog! I just love the chat stickers from Tim Holtz, there is a perfect selection of quotes and inspirational messages that can be guaranteed to express whatever your heart desires on cards for that perfect sentiment. I think it suits this card perfectly, as butterflies are as they are, free and bravely themselves with no restraint, as they fly free! That's what makes them so beautiful.

These vintage inspired papers from Lemoncraft are just gorgeous to work with, I have created cards with these papers several times now and just do not tire of working with them! Links below to purchase, with the last link to a great listing for a deluxe kit!

A close up of the sentiment, I felt that it went perfectly with the framing of the shaker window frame, as a plaque to the centered image.

I used as assortment of matching sequins in pink and green along with iridescent translucent sequins. Tip: Add seed beads to your shaker cards so make sure there is plenty of movement and an extra noise effect.

To tie the elements of the shaker card and the butterflies, I used clear drying adhesive to attach clear seed beads to the centers of the butterflies. Butterflies look like they are fluttering on the card when you fold the middle!

I hope you have enjoyed my post!

Snow Fox Shaker Card for Cherish the Memory

"Frozen Forest" Paper Kit Shaker Card

I am officially addicted to making shaker cards...and I am so grateful to be designing for Cherish the Memory because after having received these lovely card kits, making shaker cards has been a pure breeze! Honestly, I can't seem to get myself to make a non shaker card these days. I am ALMOST done with finishing my Christmas cards for friends and family, and they have been all...you guessed it...shaker cards!

You can purchase the card kit by clicking on the images to be directed to Cherish the Memory's Etsy

As you can see from the picture above, the pages from the card kit come perforated already, so it's too tempting to make these into shaker cards, all you have to do is to grab a circular metal die closest to the size of the image and cut the background provided within the kit, add some foam mounting tape to the back, then add your sequins and done!

Tip: When making shaker cards, adding seed beads not only gives shaker windows a cool effect, but also enhances the sound when you shake it as well as improving the movement of the sequins inside. Seed beads of all colors can be found at your local craft store in the jewelry section. The smaller the smaller the better!

To tie the elements of the card to the silver foiled background, I used some metallic silver embroidery floss and tied an ornamental coordinating die cut leaf from the kit and also to make the letters of "snow" appear to be attached. I used Tonic Nuvo drops and Ranger Liquid pearls for the embellishments.

If you like foiled papers, like myself, you will be love these kits!

I truly hope you've enjoyed my blog post! Any feedback is always greatly appreciated. Look for future YouTube videos in the near future!

Pink Christmas and Holiday Cards

Holiday and Christmas Card Trio for Cherish the Memory

The holidays are fast approaching and it feels like I have been working on Christmas cards for what seems like forever now! I'm sure it will all be worthwhile when I get to see the smiles on the faces of my relatives when they get the cards hand delivered to them. Thankfully these Studio Light paper kits available from Cherish the Memory have made making plenty of cards fun and almost too easy!

Below are the cards I have assembled with the "Christmas Romance" Card Kit that I will link to at the end of this post.

The paper kits include pre-designed layouts of the way you can compose the cards using their perforated pre-cut die cuts, but I hardly ever do as the kit is just so generous with the paper die cuts that I almost always create a composition of my own which is one of my favorite things about these paper kits. You can whip up a card in 5 minutes using their suggestion or spend up to an hour or so playing with all the pretty foiled detailed die cuts and make it all your own.

I was a bit ambitious with this card, but it was the most fun out of the three. It's a shaker card as you can tell, but I decided to use two windows, just like I did with my previous shaker tag.

This card was the simplest but the most beautiful to me. There really is beauty in simplicity! I always tend to add a lot of detail and embellishments, but striving for simplicity still remains to be a challenge for me, and this card was really a prize for me because it turned out to be my favorite!

I used Nuvo Crystal drops and Ranger Liquid Pearls for my cards.

Thank you so much for checking out my cards!

"Sweet Winter : Memories" Fox Shaker Tag for Cherish the Memory

A Foxy Double Shaker Window Tag

Shake Shake Shake! Shakers are Everywhere!

I had previously made a shaker birthday card for a friend, but it was my first and although I was proud of the way it came out, I still hadn't gotten quite as comfortable as I'd like to be with the shaker technique...so I decided to challenge myself and make a tag presenting two styles of the shaker technique : a background shaker window and a dimensional window.

"Memories"

Sentiments are a great way to get the viewer to gaze at a "starting point." My starting point for this tag, as you can see is the top left corner. I chose this corner for this tag, because I wanted the main shaker window to come at the "end" of the viewing trail for most impact, since it is the second shaker window that is the main attraction.

"First Shaker Window"

Above is the first shaker window right below the sentiment. I took a journaling card from Cherish the Memory Etsy store and used a Spellbinders metal die to cut the window out and reveal the background paper which is from Cherish the Memory Sweet Winter Studio Light Paper Collection. The poinsettia flower is part of the Sweet Winter die cut embellishments that will be listed below.

"Second Shaker Window"

I used a Spellbinders die to create the frame of the second window, to compliment the fox and create a more subtle shaker window, since the fox is the main attraction and the sequins are just barely there in the background giving way to the more heavily embellished, detailed bottom of the tag.

Here are some more pictures of the detail. Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed checking out my double shaker window tag! I really enjoyed making this tag because it features my favorite animal...a fox! Thank you for stopping by! I will link the products used below available at Cherish the Memory.
